My first impression of the Lisbon Hebrew Bible was amazement. Perusing the book in reverse order was unusual. I was amazed by the vibrant colors and designs.
The contrast that I observed was black-and-white text versus the gold lettering. The alignment was the most common used: center, vertical and horizontal alignment. The repetition observed was repeated use of colors, particulary green, blue and gold. The proximity of the text and columns were close together to one another.
Techniques used to emphasize book’s importance were using gold in lettering and framing, the vibrant colors and intricate designs.
